Mods not downloading steam workshop

Eventually, I had to unsubscribe on the workshop and download it via the Skyrim Nexus. I don't want to do this, because I like how easy the Workshop is, especially since I have multiple computers that I play Skyrim on. This brings me to my question: When does Steam Workshop mods download/sync? Can I force-sync Workshop mods?

Steam will download the addon files, but will not save them not to the SpaceEngine\addons\ folder like you might expect, but to an internal Steam directory (usually \steamapps\workshop\content\314650\\).

Edit: anyone else having this problem, deleting the files in the cache folder and relaunching helped. I recently purchased Complete Edition through steam, trying to install my mods through it. ~150 subscribed, now I got to mods, "get mods" it opens the browser but there is nothing I can do I believe this is something about Steam's server again as in the past, I had trouble downloading the mods list. It used to show up as steam id numbers for the mod folders but Iceman fixed it. Anyone else having these issues as well and is there another way to force the workshop mods to download?

Errors are usually easy to fix since there are a lot of online forums related to Steam but people sometimes fail to realize that each computer is different in a sense that it contains different applications which might have affected Steam…

Is it possible to Manually Install a Mod from Steam Workshop WITHOUT h - posted in Skyrim Mod Talk: Edit: OK, so my thread title got cut-off. Should read: Is it possible to Manually Install a Mod from Steam Workshop WITHOUT having to Subscribe to it? Ive always been a Nexus Exclusive type-a-Dude, however Ive come across a mod I want to install into my game thats seemingly only available And so far, the most promising result I had was using "workshop_download_item 107410 453577279" where 107410 is the AppID for Arma 3 on steam and 453577279 is the workshop content ID of some random arma 3 mod/addon. (the content ID is the number at the end of the workshop mod URL). Steam games store their workshop files in many different formats. Some games have a format that you can easily use, while other games require their workshop files to be converted or extracted in order to be usable. Mods from the Steam Workshop are found in the Steam Workshop content folder, the location of which depends on where you installed Steam. For the laptop I'm on right now, it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content and then a numbered sub-folder that corresponds to Civ VI and then numbered sub-sub-folders (containing zip files) for each mod.

Just thought I would share some advice for an annoying bug with Skyrim and the Steam Workshop not working as intended, as I think it's a common problem but I can not for the life of me find people talking about it. I had subscribed to a good 40+ mods in the workshop but whenever I would start the game the mods would never install. This is nothing to do with Steam Downloader and the API, and everything to do with the publisher of the game not enabling those who don't own the game on Steam to download workshop mods. The API Steam downloader (and similar web pages and tools) uses is a web-based API - it never had anything to do with the game itself. Eventually, I had to unsubscribe on the workshop and download it via the Skyrim Nexus. Personally I think we need to look at getting mods hosted outside of steam workshop, having mods exclusive to steam is going to split the community and ultimately it'll end up being bad for the game. Valve really are a bunch of dicks trying to gate off user made content like that, it's greed pure and simple.
